A summary of 2008

I started this yesterday, but there was a huge spider so I had to run and hide otherwise I would have died.

(That RHYMED!)


I will try to remember as much as I can. But sadly, it is before noon, so my memory is a bit faulty.


2008 started off with an uber-fun New Year's party with my friends~ We watched the 58th Kouhaku Uta Gassen and ran around the park at night. =D We're repeating it tomorrow, too~

Finals in January. I don't think I failed any...

I started my blog. =D

I slipped the guy I like a note that told him that I like him. And NOTHING CHANGED! xD

...What else?

I took and passed the CAHSEE (the exit exams).

I took Driver's Ed and Training and got my permit.

I successfully completed my Sophomore year.

Fanime was fun~

I turned 16 and went to Japan for a week.

I returned from the greatest country evar and did a whole bunch of homework. xD


I started my junior year.

I took the PSATs for the second time and didn't die as much.

I wrote a whole bunch of timed writes and DBQs in my AP classes.

I discovered the love of my life, group dubbing.

And I signed up for Fanime 2009. Number 1017!

I had four tests the week before break. All on the same day. Dx

Physics first period, AP History third, Japanese Pre-final fifth, and a Physics retake after school.

So from... 7:30 to 1 I was constantly testing.

My brain was dead. =D

What else...?

On Friday we had a Christmas party for Anime Club. Nate came. x3 It was a lot of fun (but short). I thought my heart was going to burst, though. xD

[Review] COVER YOU

Morning Musume's new album... (Sorta)

A cover album seemed like a horrifying thought at first, but after the high success of Pepper Keibu and Romance, it didn't seem so bad.

I'm listening it to the first time now, so let's go song by song and hear my initial reactions, okay?


UFO: The 'UFO' at the beginning is cool. xD And I like the beat~ However, it's a little too... I dunno. There's just something about it that irks me. ^^;

Jonii e no Dongon: Is this a Risa solo? Holy geez, she just keeps on getting better and better. It does seem like her kind of song, too. It suits her voices. This has just won me over, just because Risa is easily the strongest vocalist in MM right now. With Ai coming up second, and Linlin coming third. (But I'm certain that Junjun could kick Linlin out of third place with just a little more vocal training).

Dou ni mo Tomaranai: This seems like the most MM song so far. xD I really like it. It's pretty Risa/Ai-centered, but that's to be expected. They do a good job. However, it's a little hard to tell voices apart because they all sing so deeply.

(Holy crap, was that a Linlin solo?!)

Pinpon Pan Taisou: Ew. Koharu is never a good speaking choice. Dx This is really cute. I can see it being sung by W or someone. Probably W, or even Mini Moni. xDD Is it a Koha/Shige duet? They actually blend together really well. Whomever it is.

Pepper Keibu: Still fabulous. I'm getting a little tired of it, though. xD

Romance: I lurb it. Did before, still do.

Watashi no Aoi Tori: It's so cute! It reminds me of the Ayaya cover so much! I love it...! It's a very nice rendition, and whomever is singing (can't... tell... entirely... Damn you Ai, with your constantly changing voice...) does an excellent job.

Izakaya: Very 70's... I think. xD

(Who is the old man singing...? Too Enka for me, thank you)

Ai does a nice job. I'd rather have Koharu singing than this old guy. And that's saying something.

Ringo Satsujin Jiken: This reminds of something that might have been in one of the earliest albums... Sounds like it would be fun to dub... =D (One track mind)

Nagisa no Sinbad: Everyone hates this song. I actually kinda like it. *blink* Especially the first part. *shrug* I like it.

Shiroi Chou no Samba: Linlin.... *cries* Junjun. *sobs* This song is my new favorite. Just because the pandas get big parts....

Machi no Akari: Pretty. I have to admit, Ai does a pretty good job at ballad-y songs.

Seishun Jidai: Aww, I was thinking the Pucchimoni Seishun Jidai. xD I don't like it as much as that one, but it's a nice song.

Koi no Dial 6700: I love this song. I fell in love with the Yaguchi cover. xD (Hah, Linlin sings her name *is shot for making the same joke as everyone else*) It's upbeat. Kokoro likes~



Final Verdict:

Good. Doesn't have songs that I automatically fall in love with like other albums (*cough*Ikimasshoi*cough*) but it gets addicting fast. xD

Decent line distribution, especially for Linlin. (Promotion~) However, Ai does get a lot of singing time (as always) and as far as I can tell, there's not much love for Aika. (But I'm bad at telling her and Eri apart. xDD)

I like it, but I would like to request that the next album have a Risa/Junjun duet.

Eh, it's been a while...

Sorry for not posting in FOREVER. School's been busy, I got sick from my flu vaccination, and all that fun.

Oh, and the guy I like changed schools.

So I've been a little depressed. I mean, it's not too obvious, but even I have noticed I'm not quite as cheerful and energetic as usual.

Meh.

There are dubs, but I'll post them after my COVER YOU review. ;D

So I watched the movie Koizora Thursday night.

OMFG.


That is the most cliche, tragic, most wonderful movie I have ever seen.

By the end of the movie, I was a sobbing mess. xD

When I was in Japan, they were advertising this like crazy. People had read the story and were raving about how wonderful it was.

Anywho, I shamelessly got the guy that I like to watch my video and post a comment. ;D And I liked his comment so much that I decided....


That I, Kokoro, would confess to him.


I already gave him a note saying that I liked him last year, but he blew it off and completely acted as if nothing happened. So I wanted to say it to his face.


On Friday I was ready and pumped up to tell him. I would wait in the Japanese 2 class during seventh period and tell him after school. I knew exactly how it would go: I'd walk with him out of the classroom, and thank him for watching the video. He'd say "no, it's okay" like he always does, and I'd reply with "No, it was really important to me." And then I'd tell him I like him.


It was all going perfectly. I thanked him, and he said, "No, it's okay........" I was doing mental dances of excitement when he added "You sang beautifully".


My head kinda shut down and he joked about the gross ketchup packet I had just barely missed.

Next thing I know, he's already up ahead.

I handed my binder to Leah and ran about two feet before stopping abruptly. xD


If only Maurice wasn't there... I probably would have run after him.


Damn it! Why does he always do things like that...?!


My entire body was trembling and I felt faint afterwards... ^^; I was depressed but incredibly happy at the same time.
