Listening to: Hao Xin Qing by S.H.E
I'll be doing a dub for this soon. ;D
I'm so tired. School is rough. But I'm finally bringing my AP US History and Algebra II grades up... And my Physics/AP English grades are going down. Dx I just have to retake that test in Physics and get a much better score, and then I'll be fine...
Rawr.
The trip to Japan this year is going to be huge. There are FOURTEEN people from my class going. Plus at least three from Japanese 4.
I'm not feeling confident. It won't be the same without the people I went with... I'll probably just end up feeling lonely again. I get like that when I'm in science, Japanese, and Anime Club. When Nathaniel isn't there, I feel incredibly lonely.
Well, I won't waste your time ranting about my lack of a love life.
I auditioned for a whole bunch of Pepper Keibu dubs, and didn't really get into any of them. Then, all of a sudden, I'm in them all. Dx
I like the song and all, but four is a bit too much. I'm singing as Junjun in two of them, Takahashi in one, and then I'm trying to get Risa in the fourth. I'll probably stop once I get Risa. xD
I joined a new roleplay guild. My character is the comic relief. xD She's a complete idiot. She's taken from Aine, who was in the plot-based roleplay Syrus and I made. The only difference is that she's older, she's prettier, she has a different name, and she's a little more... Out of it? Aine was just ditzy. Yuuri is... I dunno. All I know is that I'm not playing her like I envisioned. xD She's more like Aine (from the Harvest Moon guild), only much, much dumber.
Speaking of Aine, I haven't been playing her right either. I'm always like that in HM roleplays. I maintain the personality until my character meets a pretty definite love interests, and then her personality completely falls apart. xD
Oh well. At least I can always just say that she's changing~
Aine is cute, though. Almost too cute. Like a freakishly adorable puppy.
Sarah got mad at me today because I always make such cute characters. xD She says it's impossible for her to not love them.

Rallies are fun...
Listening to: Inshouha Renoi no You ni by Yoshizawa Hitomi, Miyoshi Erika, Yajima Maimi, and Kumai Yurina
Yurina=<3
Today we had a rally~ I brought my video camera and got the whole thing on camera. Including scavenger hunt/musical chairs. And condom balloons. And smexy dances.
Ah, high school...
I was going to post more, but... I remembered I have something to do and I'm not in the mood anymore. xD

[Review] The Official Pepper Keibu Single Review
So when I first ranted about the new Morning Musume single, I was brief and not very official.
So I'm going to write an OFFICIAL review of Pepper Keibu!
Every single blog known to man has probably already published their review, most likely weeks ago. But I am a rebel (but not really). So I'm writing mine now.
Ahem.
I was initially horrified by the idea of Morning Musume doing covers. Covers?! That's what W did! Morning Musume has only done a cover once before, and that was Morning Musume no Hyokkori Hyoutan Jima, and we can all see how successful that was.
(Did you pick up on my sarcasm? 'Cause I was being sarcastic. =D)
I heard the Pink Lady version on Youtube. It took all I had not to scream, and that wasn't just because there were middle aged women dancing in skimpy outfits. Nooo, I was shocked that they'd choose such a.... *foams at the mouth*
But you know what? I think I know how people become alcoholics. You don't like alcohol (or in this case, Pepper Keibu) very much at first. But you keep on going to parties, you keep on getting pressured to drink, and next thing you know you're running around with a lampshade on your head. Now you're hooked, and you won't ever be able to stop. Well, unless you find one of those trusty support groups.
"*Hic* My name is Kokolo... *drunken smile* And I'm a Peppuuur Keibuuuuu addict! *hic*"
I actually have no idea if that's how a drunk person acts. Or even if people show up drunk to those AA meetings. I get all of my information about the effects of alcohol from my tenth grade Honors Chemistry teacher.
Anywho!
I love it now.
I joined the very first Pepper Keibu groupdub, and I'm anxiously waiting for feedback. (Did I get Junjun or not, dammit?!)
My dubbing project, Unagi Musume, will probably be singing Pepper Keibu for their next single.
Sparkly dresses! Sparkly set! Sparkly dances! Thigh-dresses! Junjun/Risa harmony love!
*Happy sigh~*
The B-side? Catchy. Probably would be fun to sing. Mehn. Junjun needs more solos.

Junjun is meh Mascot
Listening to: Ame no Furai Hoshi de wa Ai Senai Darou? by Morning Musume
I. Lurv. This. Song.
It's so pretty and melodic and soft and then BAM! You get slammed hard in the face by an uber-amazing solo by Junjun... And in Chinese! And just when you're getting over the shock and your nose is almost done bleeding Linlin pops up with another AWESOME solo.
Why don't these girls get more solos? Why? Why God/Tsunku? Whyyyyy?
*cough*
I have important news!
I, Kokoro, have decided...
I'm going to Japan again!
We'll be leaving around February 14th (Le gasp! Valentine's Day?!) and getting back the following Sunday. Or, we'll leave the 15th and get back on that Monday.
So that's a full week of being in Japan!
Sure, I'll probably have homework I'll have to makeup/do early and I'll be super-jetlagged when I get back, but...
A lot of my friends are going. Kayleigh isn't, though. Or Nathaniel. And it won't be the same without the guy I like or a girl to room with who might molest me while I'm sleeping... It just won't be the same! ;____;
But Sarah and Marsha and Alea and Steven and Josh and random-girl-from-anime-club and other-people-I-know-but-at-the-same-time-not-really are going.
So yah. We'll be going back to Teramachi (Karaoke!) and Nara (Phillip!). And we'll be staying on Mt. Koya and going to Nagasaki.
Unfortunately...
The people we are going to stay with for the home stay? Get this:
It's an all-girl.
Catholic.
High school.
All girls? Ick! I want some goodlooking Japanese high school boys. ;______;
Oh well. Maybe one of them will have a cute older brother.
Yah. So I'm going.
DUBS!
Honmono yo.
xD
Uwaki na Honey Pie. Originally sung by Country Musume, Fujimoto Miki, and Konno Asami.
Covered by the COLOR Project's Midori, Kin, and Aoi.
I was originally in charge of this dub. But... Midori kinda took over.
They have such clear, cute voices. I don't match at all. Dx
But this was fun~
Roman ~My Dear Boy~
Miki's mixing is amazing.
I will never escape this song. I've decided.
I actually like how I sound in this. xD Especially my "Hey, Let's have a dance, my dear" at the very beginning. xD
We're doing Resonant Blue/Memory Seishun no Hikari next. I love my lines in Memory Seishun no Hikari. I'm really looking forward to it~ (I have, like, the lead)
Saa! Koibito ni Narou
It completely got de-synced when I uploaded it. ;_________;
I had no energy whatsoever in these singles. I can actually hear myself get better with each song.
More Melon Kinenbi!
This was a duet between Vee and myself. Namida no Taiyou.
This is a really short, easy, but deep song.
And the instrumental hates my Audacity. xD It wouldn't work right.
I sang this when I was still kinda sick. You can tell that I had no lung strength. xD
Uwaaaah!
This is such a hard song to sing. Daite HOLD ON ME.
I have no solos in this song except for the rap. xD Which I think I rocked, thank you very much.
I just realized I was the only person who actually sang with a harmony. xD
I recorded my lines and then the lyrics were changed, and all of the sudden I was singing all of the harmony during the chorus. Which is WAY too high for me. And then for some reason, they mixed it with the lines I already had.
Which means in some parts I should be singing but I'm not. Oh well. More solos for the other peoples~
I had better get a big part in the next single. =_________= Singing the MELODY.
It says it's not done processing. I say whatever.
Another duet between Vee and myself. I love this. xD

Tomorrow's a Frigging T-shirt Day
I have to wear my green Link Crew T-shirt tomorrow. =_________=
I don't wanna.
Apparently we're also supposed to be hovering around Back to School Night, but forget that. I'm staying home. Those freshman moms can find their own damn way.
Do I sound grumpy? I'm not, really. It's just that I have to make up a History quiz that I missed when I was in bed with a fever and cold for three days, two of which were school days.
So yeah, I'm a little grumpy. And there's a big test in History tomorrow, too. I don't know if I'll take it. I'm not prepared. At all. I don't know anything about chapter 8.
And I have a big scrape across my arm that I got dragging the stupid cat back into the house after she made a run for it.
And my hands are sticky with detergent. BECAUSE I HAD TO WASH MY STUPID GREEN LINK CREW T-SHIRT.

I Shall Call it the Reign of Junjun
Listening to: Ai no Sono ~Touch my Heart~ by Ootani Masae and Saitou Hitomi of Melon Kinenbi
*Explosive nosebleed*
I love these duet/concert thingies they did. So much, in fact, I'm doing group dubs for them. xD
*dies coughing*
I'm siiiiiiiick. And you know what sucks? I've only been out for two days (this is my second) but I've missed so much! Two tests in history, a packet to turn in, an essay, homework and homework and homework.
*dies again*
Anywho!
I noticed something! And while I could just explain it simply, I'm not!
It's about the leadership of Morning Musume.
I'll put the list of members in every single and their age (doing the math by year, so it might not be entirely accurate) and then put the leader of MM in bold.

Whew! Done!
So, the oldest is always the leader, right? Nakazawa, then Iida-Yasuda (not sure why two of them), then Iida, then Yaguchi, then Yoshizawa, then Fujimoto (she was only leader for 26 days), then Takahashi.
So. When Takahashi graduates, Risa will become leader simply because she is sub-leader now, even though Junjun is older.
If that happens, then Junjun will be sub-leader.
But if Risa decides to graduate at the same time as Takahashi, then Junjun is the leader of Morning Musume!
I would love that to be true. A Risa/Junjun leadership would ROCK but so would a Junjun/Kamei...

In the Reign of Junjun, Tsunku will try to fix MM. Hopefully, Tanaka will decide to leave and form a duo with Takahashi, if Queen Takitty is willing to give up being a solo-only singer. Koharu will get so wrapped up with whatever cutesy anime series she's been assigned to sing the theme songs/do cosplay PVs/voice main characters for. Sayumi can join her and form a squeaky team.
Then! Under the leadership of Junjun, Tsunku will find some girls with TALENT. Not just looks. Not just charisma. TALENT. And he'll select two or three of those girls (there should be four) that have great personalities. We've been lacking in the comedy/personality area since the fourth generation was all together. Their sales will improve, they'll get way more funds, they'll place higher on the Oricon charts, and maybe they'll have enough money to do some more shuffles.
And then we can have a Junjun/Aika/Yurina/Chinami shuffle. =D And soloist-Risa.
It will be great!

Could it be?!
Listening to: Pepper Keibu by Morning Musume
You know, I tried to hate it. I really did. I tried to hate it, be repulsed by it like I first was, and, and, and... Ah, who am I kidding? This song grows on you like a rash... You itch and itch and use all the ointment in the world and it still won't go away completely...
It's catchy! ;_______;
And there's no Takahashi solos. ;D
Anywho!
I have more exciting news!
I may/probably will be going to Japan again! =O
There's a yearly winter trip to Japan that has gone on every year since my teacher started teaching there...? I dunno. But it's been going on for a good chunk of time.
The reason I went on the summer trip is because it was a possibly one time thing and it wouldn't require that I do a homestay. xD
But this one does~
Let's the list the pros and cons.
Cons first:
I have to stay with a family.
I have to actually speak Japanese this time.
I'll be going to a lot of the same places
Sarah might not be going
If I have a single C on my report card then I have to pay the $2100 back to my parents...
It's during Winter Break so I'll be jetlagged and have school
Pros:
It's friggin' JAPAN
I had such a blast last time. I actually had withdrawals. xD
I might be able to do karaoke... We'll be going to Teramachi again. ;D
It would be good practice.
It will be cold, so it won't be the living hell like Japan in the summer is
Sarah might be going
I could say that I went to Japan twice in a six month period (about)
Nagasaki? I haven't been there
A lot of fun people from my class are planning on going, so it would be fun.
I could go around and look like a tired mess without having to worry about Nathaniel being disgusted with me~ x3
Bleh. I'm torn. If Sarah's going, I'm totally in.

PEPPEEEEER KEIBU
Minna-san, it is out.
The (low quality) PV is out!
It's not as bad as I imagined, though.
It's not the greatest, but I'm glad it's not the worst. The PV is terrible, though. Those awful costumes! And the sparkling lights! I see they're still having financial problems... It makes me sad to see they haven't had a decent PV since The Manpower!
Ew. Michishige's speaking part at the end.
People say that Junjun and Linlin get solos... I just haven't been able to distinguish when or for how long...
Projecthello had better get lyrics for this soon. xD
ZOMG! Eri's new haircut! =O Gorgeous!
B-side.
It's okay. Better than most.
But they stuck Jun/Lin in the same box/section again. Let them be independent!

And it keeps getting worse....
I just saw the promotional ad for the Pepper Keibu single. (It feels weird calling it that).Dx
Risa looks like.... someone not Risa. She looks like a fat Risa cosplayer.
Reina's totally hogging the room.
And poor Junjun/Linlin are shoved off into the corner again. When will the eighth gen get any love? ;_______;
Sad.
The good news? I finally made it into a Suki na Senpai dub. xD
I'm Ogawa!
And I've fallen in love with this song. x3

Morning Musume 37th Single Title Revealed!
Y'know, I was really looking forward to the song Morning Musume would be singing for their 37th single. I was hoping it would be a song full of Junjun love.
The single title is Pepper Keibu.
I looked it up on Youtube, and I was horrified.
It's a cover of the song by the Pink Ladies. Yeah, that old group from the 80's or whatever.
...
I cannot imagine Morning Musume singing this song. Well, actually, I could. But not the 'PEPPEEEEEER~ KEIBU' part. Dx
They had better have one good B-side.
Frankly, I like the Go!Go!7188 cover better.
Why?
Because Go!Go!7188 kicks ass.

Thank God for Family Outings....
...That I don't have to go on. x3
My parents are going to the beach with my sister and another family. I get to stay home. Wewtt!
I shall get some dubbing done. =3
Here's what I will be dubbing today:
Audition for Osaka no Koi Uta
Audition for Mystery of Life
My lines for Hand Made City
My lines for Uwaki na Honey Pie
And I'll practice Anataboshi and Gachinko de Ikou... (Those songs are hard! Well, not so much the latter as the former. xD)
New dub:
The opening to the Bon Kyu! Bon Kyu! Bomb Girl! Morning Musume concert I'm dubbing. =3
I'm Junjun. Therefore, I get almost no solos. ;______; Well, at least I have my wonderful Suki na Senpai duet. x3
And Junjun is too cute.
The person who mixed this just put it over the original track, so the original vocals are still there. xD
For some reason, you can't hear me when Junjun and Linlin sing "Kenkou ga ichiban"... Just xoxoMeeYonxoxo, who sings as LinLin.

The Tokyopop Rant
About a minute ago, I posted that Tokyopop has gotten really crappy lately. Because I don't know how long this rant will be I have decided to give it its own entry.
Tokyopop was one of the first manga publishers in the US, if not the first.
They released manga under its 'Mixx Manga' line before changing its name to Tokyopop. (Maybe they were purchased, I'm not sure).
They released such popular titles as Sailor Moon, Cardcaptor Sakura, Saint Tail, and many more. Most of those were released in both tankoubon form, the bound books, but they were also released in flimsy American comic book style magazines that featured one chapter at a time, just like it was published in the magazine in Japan.
My first manga came from Tokyopop. I remember going to the local comicbook store and buying tons of Saint Tail single-chapter books, thinking they were actually entire volumes. (Like, I bought the seventh chapter thinking it was volume seven, and being very disappointed.)
Eventually they acquired more series. My first teen manga, 13+, was Fruits Basket. I have a very distinct memory of being in band in the sixth grade and reading it while we had a sub.
The first volume came out five years ago. And they're still not done with the series.
At first they had a handful of series, no more than Viz or Del Rey has now. They would release volumes every other month.
Then, they started the OEL manga line. They were acquiring new series at a very fast rate while also releasing fanbooks and artbooks and original comics created by their own artists.
This was their downfall.
They have too many series, too many series that are unfinished or one or two volumes, or aren't popular at all. They have too many original series, too many series by people no one knows about or cares about, and too many series based off of books.
The quality has decreased so much. I can find at least one typo in any of the recent books they've released.
I love Viz. They have translation notes, they have interesting series that they know will be popular, their website isn't obnoxious...
To me, Tokyopop is the manga noob's publisher. The girl I babysit is obsessed with their series. Kamichama Karin, Cardcaptor Sakura, Instant Teen, Princess Ai, Vampire Kisses.... She doesn't care about the quality. She still calls them 'manga books' (pronouncing manga like you would 'mango'.)
Viz is the leader of the pack of high-quality stuff. They have the most manga to appeal to the widest range of people. I really like them. They have good prices, good series, and a steady and reasonable release schedule. And I love Shoujo Beat magazine. xD Of course, Shounen Jump is pretty noobish, because it has Naruto and BLEACH in it. They get more people buying the magazine who have no idea what manga is.
Del Rey is overlooked a lot. They actually do a great job. While they release things at a slower pace than Viz, I really like them. They have School Rumble and Tsubasa, after all.
Here is something I saw at Borders recently:
There is a series of books called the "Secrets of_________ Revealed!" or something like that. It takes popular series and then posts a series of spoilers from the Japanese release. Of course, it's not entirely accurate because they were written before the series ended, and in some cases the American releases have already caught up, but they have these books full of spoilers. They're written by people who don't really know the series that well either.
Anywho, I was going through the manga after I got back from Japan (I had about 11 stacked up. xD) when these two girls walked by. They were typical teenagers, wearing too much makeup, skinny jeans, low cut tops, and were texting on their phones.
Then, one noticed the Fruits Basket spoiler book.
She let out a cry and the two both grabbed a copy. They're reading it and going "OMG no wai!" and "That can't be true" and "Gawd, I never saw that coming. Tohr-you can't really like Ki-yoh, can she?"
It made me sick. =______=
It's bad enough idiots like those are crowding into the fandom, but they're also blatantly mispronouncing the names. Geez.

Yes, I am that much of a nerd
I've been reading my dubbing friend, Vee's, blog.
http://www.pinkwota.com/
Her writing puts mine to shame. xD
See, ladies and gents, that is what true blogging looks like. This here, this random blogspot site, is just a place for me to rant. I still can't believe that people read it. (I've counted two so far!) And I didn't have to force them to read it like I did my friends. x3
Anywho, Vee-san, as I call her, has stepped down from dubbing. The last YT PM conversation that we had revealed that she is incredibly busy, so I wasn't surprised she stopped... But I was surprised she stopped so suddenly. I always thought that if she would retire from the community, she'd spend at least a few days closing things...
For some reason, I have a strong feeling that she might change her mind....
Oh well! It's her decision! If she returns, it means we can actually go through with our duets. If not, then it means that I'll have one less person to join my dubs. (Because, well, she joins them all. xD OMG. I just realized that I can't use her for Koko ni Iruzee or Souda! We're Alive. Saaaaaad. *cries*)
Anywho~
New dub to tide you over. =3
Today, I pre-ordered both of the Morning Musume and Berryz 2009 calendars. xD (I think that's where I was going with the Vee rant.) I think it's kinda silly to have two calendars, especially when I have no idea what the photos look like, but....
Right now I have my complementary Shoujo Beat calendar and my slightly-pornographic BLEACH calendar. (Sept./Oct. is Renji. He's glaring and his hair is down and his clothes are ripped and he's bleeding profusely from the head. He should have that checked out. It's not attractive).
So for 2009 I'll have at least three~ x3
I hope there's plenty of Chinami/Yurina/Junjun/Risa love in those calendars. xD And Junjun had better look cute. They always put her in such awkward poses.
Next I have to buy the MM Single Daizenshuu concert (my PS2 can play all regions of DVDs. x3) which is about $41. Then there's the Japanese X-box 360 so I can play the iDOLM@STER (which I already have). That should cost about $350. Maybe more. And then the $100 worth of manga I need to buy in the next two months. x3
Thank god October is a slow release month for manga. September's releases are killing me.
And there are so many series I want to buy. I stopped buying Aa! Megami-sama, like, a year ago, because I could never remember to check the Dark Horse website for the release dates so I'd find it at the store and not have brought enough money to buy it. And it costs so frigging much. Dx My 9 dollar Shoujo Beat manga kinda even out the 11 dollar Del Rey manga, and I don't buy enough Tokyopop manga anymore to really make that much of a difference....

Junior Year Suuuuuucks
Remember when I said last entry about the COLOR Project's Morning Coffee dub?
"Morning Coffee will sound awesome, though."
It doesn't. xD
None of our harmonies were together, and for Aoi and Momo (who have higher voices) I think they had a lot of difficulty with it. (But of course, nothing can beat the Morning Coffee dub I made. x3)
Super-spiffehful dub done by Vee-san, Rae-kun, and Henry-san. x3 And myself.
I think it came out AWESOME except that I hate my 'konbini ga suki' messup at the very beginning. Dx
Unagi Musume~
Namida ga Tomaranai Houkago
Unagi Kinenbiiiiiii~
Akai Freesia~
It actually turned out really well... Except that Rae hates this song (xD) and I don't think put her all into it. And then Kaorin's track was so soft I had to turn it up all the way and there's feedback throughout the whole thing.
Heh. Anime Hell.
Did I post this before?
Asher and Alex's AP Euro project. It's really funny. Especially since Alex sits next to me in AP History and AP English and Asher is just... everywhere. xD
Why is this so entertaining?
Ah. Yes. Why does junior year suck?
I don't have any classes with Nathaniel. =________=
I had just accepted that, because we'd still have anime club together~
But, you know what?
He didn't join anime club. =____________=
Apparently it "takes too much time" (according to Jenna, who has been our messenger. xD)
This sucks!
He's graduating this year, too!
He won't reply to my emails!
I have no other way to talk to him, and I'm too nervous to go look for him at lunch. ;________;
This sucks so much.
I didn't think I'd have to end things like this. Soon he'll be gone, and I'll be all alone, and I won't have any memories from our last year together to sustain me.
*cries*

I am the dub fairy, bringing sparkling dubbing magic!
Yes, I do realize how stupid that sounds.
GROUPDUBBING NEWS!
I made it into the COLOR Project! I had always thought they were an uber-amazing dubbing group that I could fangirl over but never take part in... But then! Vee opened auditions! *Chyeah!*
I made it. My name is now Kin. x3 Kokoro Kin. Kin Kokoro. Kin na Kokoro! Kin no Kokoro? Kin ni Kokoro...? (Damn you particles!)
So what was once an uber-amazing dubbing group that was out of my grasp is now an uber-amazing dubbing group with my not-so uber amazing vocals bringing it down! =D
Seeeeee?
I think it just sounds weird because Vee and I have the deeper voices in the group, and she used her 'Berryz/C-ute' voice. xD I just used my normal voice. xDD
Personally, I find it hard to sound cool and spiffeh and uber-amazing when singing a Berryz song (with the exception of Very Beauty)...
Morning Coffee will sound awesome, though.
More news!
Smile! Project will be clearing out the inactive members~ I talked with Rae, and I can stick with Iida and Junjun and Goto in Iromoni. x3
Vee and I will be doing two duets. x3 Yay Melon Kinenbi!
Dubs:
I like how I sound in this. xD It actually turned out really well~
I'm really muffled in this. Dx
And no matter how much I'd like it to be true, Sarah and my voices don't mix that well~
But you've got to admit... Aika is so cute in this PV. x3 I'm so glad I get so sing as such a cutie. Junjun is cute, too.
Onegai Miwaku no Target~
I love the video for this. The PV I posted somewhere on the blog, and it features buff black guys dancing and singing. This is the concert, and it's more fun. You get to see the members better. I'm glad I found it. =3 (Yes, I mixed this.)
I'm covering for Saitou Hitomi. Whenever I see her, I'm blinded by her sexiness. It's amazing. I've never been overwhelmed by someone's sex appeal before. xDD
My Egao YES Nude dub. =3
I really like this. Everyone sounds great. And it sounds awesome. x3 Nami is an amazing singer. She sounds JUST like Fujimoto and Takahashi. She's singing as Takahashi in this, but she can easily tweak her voice to sound like Fujimoto. Did I mention she's amazing?
